Confessions of a Reader

'Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are.' – Mason Cooley

About Me

Firstly, thanks for visiting my blog!

I am 28 and live in Kent, England. I am a secondary school teacher, teaching dance as my main specialist subject. I have worked my way up from TA to teacher, for the past seven years. My job is somewhat demanding – reading is my way of escaping from day to day life. I enjoy nothing more than relaxing with a book after a hard day at work. I want to use this blog as a way of relaxation, so you won’t read about my job on here.

I love reading and have done since an extremely young age. I was always (and still am) happiest being left in a bookshop or library for as long as possible. I recently discovered BookTube and am now an avid follower, so I thought I would give it a go myself. I enjoy lots of different book genres, from YA to classics, chick-lit to thriller.

I got married in 2013 and we had an amazing honeymoon in Mexico, where we met some friends for life. I have two younger brothers and a sister, my family are all very close. My husband works for the emergency services, another demanding job. We have a three (nearly four!) year old Labrador who is the most excitable, loveable rogue you’ll ever meet. I am now also a proud mummy to a beautiful baby boy, Parker, born in November 2014 – he is absolutely adorable and has given us so much joy. I look forward to creating memories, traditions and seeing him develop and grow.

My blog is a place where I talk about books, baby and general daily life. Please feel free to comment with your thoughts, opinions and questions – I love hearing from you!
